Dave Jago

Dave studied chemistry at Imperial College, and although he hasn't worked formally in science for years it's a mindset he believes you don't grow out of. He still considers himself a scientist. After a couple of years of postgrad research (studying the kinetics of tea infusion and catalysis of solvolysis reactions) he moved into publishing. He spent three decades as Director of Publications and Website at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, building up a book and journal publishing programme, launching and running the website, and developing eLearning platforms for doctors. During his publishing career Dave was also a Director of the Publishers Licensing Society and the Copyright Licensing Agency.
Dave is now a professional trombonist. He plays with the Bollywood Brass Band and with a variety of other bands, including several jazz groups that he leads himself, and he composes and arranges. Dave also undertakes consultancy in the scholarly publishing field, for clients such as the UK Department of Health and Social Care and the University of Delft.
