Erene Kaptani is an anthropologist, community and youth worker, participatory performance artist and dramatherapist with expertise in participatory performance for social research, community building and public impact. She employs narrative and movement based methods inspired by improvisation and physical theatre as well as Playback and forum theatre and dramatherapy. She is a member of Playback South Theatre Company and devises performances at Studio Upstairs arts community. She produced and performed in Suspended Lives, a play that worked with refugee groups at Tara Arts and Rich Mix. She devises performances and arts events that question constructions of identities, institutional and public communications.
